Apply by December 11 (Thu)! Daichi Renkei Workshop Winter in Biratori

Applications are now open for the Daichi Renkei Workshop, held every summer and winter in Nibutani, Biratori (in Japanese).

The Daichi Renkei Workshop is a residential program for university and graduate students across Japan to experience contemporary Ainu culture.

Participants will learn directly from local artisans, Ainu language teachers, chefs, and young people engaged in forest creation—offering an authentic encounter with today’s living Ainu culture beyond tourism. Please note that all programs are conducted in Japanese.

Dates: February 9 (Mon) – February 14 (Sat), 2026 (6 days, 5 nights)
Venue: Iwor Cultural Exchange Center (228 Nibutani, Biratori, Saru District, Hokkaido) and nearby locations
Participation fee: ¥9,000 (includes accommodation, meals, and workshop materials)
Travel subsidy: 50% (conditions apply)
Application deadline: December 11 (Thu), 2025, 17:00
